In Swahili JAMBO JAMBO means “bye bye” and is the 8-day and 7-night itinerary to discover the Manyara and Natron lakes and the 3 main parks of northern Tanzania. Excluding the days of arrival and departure, the JAMBO JAMBO safari includes:
LAGO MANYARA 1 DAY
As we begin our safari in Lake Manyara Park, we come across a very diverse vegetation. Swamps and evergreen forests are followed by stretches of savannah, making this place a synthesis of no less than 11 different ecosystems. We will spot the many species of birds that inhabit this lake, including pelicans, flamingos, herons and eagles.
NGORONGORO 1 DAY
The visit to the Ngorongoro crater will amaze you with the variety of ecosystems that coexist in it: savannah, acacia forests, lakes, swamps and salt marshes. For this reason, the concentration of fauna is amazing, consisting of herds of zebras and wildebeests, numerous colonies of flamingos, countless species of birds as well as lions, elephants and hyenas.
SERENGETI 2 DAYS
We will spend two days in the most important protected natural area in East Africa declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We will go in search of the giants of the savannah, better known as the BIG FIVE: elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo.
LAKE NATRON 1 DAY
We will continue our safari to discover Lake Natron, a body of saline water that occupies a depression due to the sinking of the earth’s crust. In addition to flamingos, the lake is home to around 400 species of water birds including kingfisher, red and yellow bearded, lilac-breasted jay and other birds of prey.
TARANGIRE 1 DAY
The last day of our journey will take us to discover a greener landscape characterized by baobab trees and typical umbrella acacias. Inhabitants of this park are warthogs, dik-dik, gazelles, giraffes and elephants.
