Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Your first contact with Tanzania
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by Magilani Safaris staff and transferred to Arusha, at the foot of Mount Meru. This lively town will be your starting point for a safari in Tanzania that promises deep and authentic emotions.
If the weather and tiredness allow it, we can already accompany you to visit this teeming city, full of many local markets that will immediately immerse you in real African life!
Day 2: Lake Manyara – The diversity of 11 ecosystems
The journey immediately gets underway with a visit to the Lake Manyara Park, a small naturalistic jewel where 11 ecosystems follow one another among forests, swamps and savannah. Here you can spot pelicans, flamingos, eagles and colobus monkeys, in a rich and lush environment, typical of the greenest Tanzania.
Day 3: The Ngorongoro Crater – African Noah’s Ark
Continuing towards the imposing Ngorongoro Crater, you will find yourself in one of the richest habitats on the planet: a natural amphitheater populated by zebras, wildebeests, elephants and predators. This closed ecosystem offers exceptional sightings in a single day.
Days 4–7: Four Days in the Serengeti – In the Heart of the African Savannah
The search for the Big Five
In the majestic Serengeti National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you’ll spend four days spotting the Big Five of the African savannah: lion, elephant, leopard, rhinoceros and buffalo. With all this time available, the chances of memorable encounters increase, immersed in a vast and wild setting.
The Great Migration – The spectacle of nature
And then, the spectacle that makes this itinerary truly unique: the Great Migration in Tanzania. Wildebeests and zebras move en masse northwards, facing the dangerous Grumeti river. A moment full of tension, beauty and primitivism, which you can experience up close, in the heart of the savannah.
Day 8: Tarangire – Elephants and thousand-year-old baobabs
The last real day of safari takes place in the verdant Tarangire Park, famous for its elephant population and scenic baobab trees. A landscape that is both gentle and powerful, where you can say hello to Tanzania among herds of giraffes, dik-diks and warthogs.
Day 9: Return to Arusha and local markets
Before returning, you will visit the local markets of Arusha: a cultural and authentic experience, ideal for buying handicrafts and experiencing Tanzanian everyday life up close. One last sip of Africa before saying goodbye to this incredible journey.
